Euterpe Guıtar Duo

Euterpe Guitar Duo is a chamber music group formed by the Portuguese guitarists Pedro Baptista and Titus Isfan.

They met in 2013 as classical guitar students of Professor Dejan Ivanović at the University of Évora. They met again in 2017 as teachers of classical guitar at the Montijo Regional Conservatory of Arts. In 2019 they founded the Euterpe Guitar Duo.

They have been dedicating themselves to promoting the newest music for this formation, written by some of the most celebrated Portuguese composers. Previous collaborations include names such as Afonso Teles, Ana Roque Antunes, Ana Seara, António Victorino d’Almeida, Cândido Lima, Eurico Carrapatoso, Fábio Chicotio, Fernando C. Lapa, Francisco Chaves, Gonçalo d’Alcântara Lourenço, João Pimentel, José Mesquita Lopes, José Peixoto, Luís Lopo, Mafalda Lemos, Νίκη, Nuno Guedes Campos, Nuno Peixoto de Pinho, Paulo Amorim, Rafael Araújo, Ricardo Abreu, Sérgio Azevedo and Victor Castro.

As a duo, they have had the opportunity to work in masterclasses with Alejandro Córdova, Andrea De Vitis, António Jorge Gonçalves, Darko Bageski, Elvis Sivčević, José Mesquita Lopes, Júlio Guerreiro, Pavle Filipović, Pedro Rodrigues, Sanel Redžić and Vojislav Ivanović.

This guitar duo has performed at festivals and tours throughout the country and abroad. Their first albums, Entre Gestos Distantes and Reminiscências iridescentes, were released by La mà de guido (Barcelona). The Euterpe Guitar Duo has been working on the dissemination of a diversified repertoire that reflects multiple aesthetic currents of today’s Portuguese musical panorama.
